Communication Skills Program (CSP)
CSP is a small class that serves children in grades 1-3 throughout the district with various communication challenges. The children are selected by a committee from the Student Support Services Department, school administration, speech therapists and counsellors assigned to the schools and the CSP classroom teacher. Individual Program Plans are designed to help students improve in their ability to communicate.
The focus of the program is on:
- Early intervention
- language acquisition
- Articulation/phonology acquisition
- Pro-social skills
- Specialized language intervention within age appropriate curriculum content
- Proactive intervention for regular program success
