Classrooms
Woodbridge Farms Elementary has 2 classes at each grade level from 1-6, with the exception of Grades 1 and 3 which have 3 classes this year. There is one Grade 2/3 and one 4/5 combined class.
Grades 1 to 3 classes are primarily taught by a homeroom teacher with music and physical education specialists teaching children in the respective subjects.
Students in grades 4 to 6 have a homeroom teacher and are taught by subject specialists. Students also receive French As A Second Language (FSL) instruction in grades 4 to 6.
Academic Programs
Balanced Literacy assists all children in Grade 1 to 3. This initiative is also a district-wide language arts program that promotes spelling, reading and writing. This innovative way of teaching these skills promotes individualized instruction that promotes differentiation.
Comprehensive literacy, a Division II step-up from Balanced Literacy, is taught in our Division II classes. Its focus is on literacy in the four core subjects.
