Wolverine Week at a Glance May 20-24

Wow! It is hard to believe that it is almost the end of May. It’s been a short, but productive week. Once we return from the long weekend, the school year is going to fly by.

Next week we are having our Kindergarten Information Night on Thursday at 6:30pm. If you have a child that is registered for kindergarten next year, we encourage you to join us at the school. On Tuesday and Wednesday, some staff and grade 5&6 students will be participating in the Moosehide Campaign. Moose Hide Campaign is a 24 hour fast to signify a commitment to honour, respect and protect the women and children in your life and to work together to end violence against women and children.

We are in need of volunteers for our next 2 Hot Lunches: May 24 and 31. If you are able to volunteer, please see below for more information and the link to sign up!

We wish all of our families a wonderful long weekend. Enjoy the sunshine and we will see everyone back at school on Tuesday.

Have a great long weekend!

Mabel’s Labels

Our school is fundraising with Mabel’s Labels! If you’re not familiar with Mabel’s Labels, they are personalized, durable, waterproof labels. They are great for everything from shoes, clothing tags, water bottles and backpacks. You can customize them with your name and a design, and they are dishwasher, laundry and microwave safe.

To support our fundraiser, visit campaigns.mabelslabels.com and select WOODBRIDGE FARMS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (SHERWOOD PARK). You can pick out whatever labels or product you want, and it will ship for free directly to your house! Thank you for supporting us!

OPPORTUNITY

Virtual Talent Show

Based on feedback from parents, students and staff surveys and discussion as a staff, we will not be having a Year End Talent Show as we have had in the past. Instead, we are inviting families to send in short videos of their talents. This could be singing, dancing, playing an instrument, skateboarding, biking, scootering.. The possibilities are endless. Videos will be added to our WBFTV episodes each week until the end of the school year for students to enjoy. If your child is interested in sharing one of their talents, please send a 30-45 second video to: principal.wbf@eips.ca.

June Dates and Volunteer Opportunities

As we start to approach the end of the school year, here are some June dates to put on your calendar:

June 7 Spirit Day

June 17 Year End Assembly

June 21 National Indigenous Peoples Day/Lunch on the Land

June 25 Grade 6 Farewell in PM

June 26 Last Day of School for Students/Report Cards Available to Families

The annual Woodbridge Farms School Spirit Day will be held on Friday, June 7th! Our school Spirit Day is a multi-event program with teams of children participating in various outside events throughout the day. The event is a very fun and exciting day for everyone! To help make our School Spirit Day a success, we require the assistance of many volunteers. If you are able to volunteer for a half day or the full day, please sign up using this link: SPIRIT DAY VOLUNTEERS
